Hairspray Sequel In The Works Can you guess who will return for the sequel? With the success of the movie Hairspray, a sequel is inevitable. Whether or not it is a good idea is beside the point. Director Adam Shankman recently told entertainmentweekly.com that a sequel to Hairspray is in the works for a 2010 release. He revealed that the potential follow-up would focus on Tracy Turnblad and her friends during “the next era of music,” namely, the late ‘60s. Shankman explained, “That period was superpolitical. It was a time of serious change. We’re trying to track, in a comedic way, the historical elements.” Though none of the cast members - which include Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer and John Travolta - has signed on, Shankman is hopeful to get the original cast for the sequel. ![]() So it's not just the make up that make Robert Pattinson look super pale and gaunt in Twilight. While filming the vampire movie, the British heartthrob was partially living in the gym, going through punishing exercise regime for five hours a day, which eventually caused him unhealthy weight loss. " I started losing too much weight. My head started to look really huge in comparison to the rest of my body," he told Entertainment Weekly. It was only after the intervention of the film's director, Catherine Hardwicke that Robert realised that he was over-exercising. "She came up to me and said, 'What are you doing to yourself?' I literally stopped exercising to gain back my weight. Eating a cheeseburger after two and a half months -- it tasted like ambrosia." It's been confirmed that all the major actors and director Catherine Hardwicke from Twilight have signed on for the sequel. Entitled New Moon and scheduled for release in 2010, the new movie will see human heroine Bella (Kristen Stewart) and werewolf Jacob's (Taylor Lautner) friendship grow. Taylor (far right) doesn't look that much bigger and taller than Kristen (far left) in Twilight. However, many fans have been worried about Taylor playing the enormous werewolf for the sequel. Catherine assures fans that Taylor will be ready and able to take on that challenge. "I've got this to say about Taylor. He told me the other day that he had gained 14 pounds since I last saw him," Catherine informed USA Today. "He's only 16. I think he's chanting to make himself grow." Well, he still has time to bulk up and if all else fails, there's always CGI. Robert Pattinson Forced to Fix Teeth Girls are falling over themselves to go catch the vampire flick, Twilight. Why? Because of Edward the vampire - played by British actor, Robert Pattinson (whom some of you might remember as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire). The producers of Twilight knew that girls will flock to the cinema to swoon over Robert so they had to ensure that he looks his best in the movie. First thing they made him do as soon as he signed on for the movie is to fix his teeth... so that he will have an alluring smile in the movie! Rob was not too happy having to go through some dental work but he is willing to sacrifice in the name of art. Rob explained, "They wanted me to have the perfect smile. I never thought anything was wrong with my teeth. But the producers still wanted me to wear a brace." So, if you go catch Twilight and is smitten by his smile, it is the work of an orthodontist. Bring It On Bond! Jason Statham Challanges After all, Jason is is fighting fit after having spent nearly three months preparing for the new Transporter movie. According to published reports, the actor was determined to ensure he was fully prepared for the physically exhausting scenes in the latest film from the franchise. “We actually learned a lot about getting ready physically. I mean, the fight sequences always pose a certain challenge and if you're not physically ready, if you don't hit the gym and you're not stretched out, you're going to get injured,” Jason, who does the majority of the stunts for the film himself reportedly said. “You learn that from making the first one - you have to be efficient with your preparations.” While the jury may still be out on the outcome of a fight between Frank Martin and James Bond, Jason revealed in an interview with MTV.com that there will be no doubt who the better man is in a road race! When it comes to driving Frank Martin is arguably the best. And as Jason smugly puts it, “It’s gonna be me looking in the rear view mirror I suppose!” |
